Last week I posted the top 5 holiday party wardrobe must haves on my Instagram! Scroll through and take a look! The key is to shop for separates that will translate into multiple looks.
In this post I'll demonstrate how to put all of my Instagram finds together!
Here we go!
Cut the harshness of black with a soft ivory or blush top/bottom. Adding a textured shoe and clutch in a warm or pale palette.
When you choose to go monochrome, mixing in some metallics is a great way to shine! Find a blazer with some metallic embellishments, or add a fun metallic pump.
Add a bag that pops in a delicate way. I am in love with this Gucci navy clutch. Pay attention to the detailing on a bag. For example, the pale pink and ivory flowers and gold chain compliment the gold metallic top, and the black embellished blazer. You can also wear a bag like this with a gray cozy sweater and jeans.
When picking out an outfit, it's best to start with one piece and build. If you choose a statement skirt that has a lot going on, look carefully at the colors involved.
This plaid midi skirt that I found on Rent The Runway is filled with warmth. You can go so many routes with it. Pull the camel tones out by adding a camel turtleneck. Pull the navy by adding a navy blouse. If you feel too buttoned up find a cold shoulder, or an off the shoulder blouse!
If you also like these green corduroy culottes from Zara, you can add either of these tops. The warm green tone of these pants invites so many opportunities for warm and textured accessories! These Sam Edelman loafer pumps are my absolute favorite. Add a dark floral velvet chain bag and we are in business!
One of my favorite holiday looks is this Milly feather skirt! Mini skirts look adorable with an over the knee boot in the winter. Add either a cozy sweater on top, or a beautiful sheer black blouse-a lovely play on texture. You can always wear a basic black cropped pant with any of these tops!
The Chloe Nile Bracelet Bag is amazing. You can wear it as a cross body bag, or as a wristlet! Dangle some gold chandelier earrings!!
Check out these Lysse pleather leggings. I've owned mine for 4 years. They rock. I wouldn't mind tossing this Gucci shoulder clutch under my arm, would you? How about this Louboutin patent pumps? I am in love with this whole look. Classic.
You'll be seeing a ton of pinks and greens this winter, and into Spring. I'm in love. It's a very soft color combination that goes perfectly with black accents and gold accents. How cute are those coin stud earrings, btw?
Here are those gorgeous wide leg Milly pants again. Don't be afraid to combine all sorts of whites and camels together. It's all very clean and so sharp when contrasted against this YSL tuxedo box clutch (that I am one thousand percent obsessed with).
See any repeats here? The metallic pumps and the Zara culottes will get so much wear this season. Dress them up dress them down. Oh yea, buy a tissue turtleneck in every neutral because you'll wear them constantly.
If you follow my posts you know I love turtlenecks. Especially this lovely Veronica Beard Asa Turtleneck. Here are two types of turtleneck looks you can go for: feminine and tomboy.
Metallic statement skirts, like this one from Zara are huge right now, but you have to keep it pretty low key on top. Add a turtleneck and you'll have a look thats a little bit of everything: feminine, trendy and classic.
Or pull out your Zara green corduroy culottes and toss a white blazer over your turtleneck and add some metallic heels. This is a more polished, menswear inspired look. Regardless of your look of choice, you'll want this Valentino bag!
Whether you love a tucked white sheer tie neck blouse or a cozy cropped gray sweater, both options look impeccable with a full navy a-line metallic skirt!
Try some of these looks over the holidays! Have fun and be merry!!
