Spring 2018 - Trends and Dinner Conversation

A professor once told me that politics are a huge driver in what builds the latest fashion trends. She claimed that designers look at what's happening in the White House, combine it with the emotional response of the people and boom there's your season. Whether this is true or not, I've always found it fascinating. It's sort of fun to draw up different hypotheses behind fashion creations. It also makes for good dinner conversation.

Here are a few Spring 2018 trends that I'm loving (for aesthetic reasons). However, I challenge you to consider what has inspired these creations.

1. All Plastic

All politics aside, this trend something I plan on holding onto for a very long time. Especially as a rain coat. It's genius!

2. The Canadian Tuxedo

All denim outfits are a solid choice this spring. And they are considered "elegant". There are no rules anymore! I love it.
